WHILE LEARNING HOW TO SUPPORT YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN
BALBRIGGAN AS A CARE ASSISTANT. FULL TRAINING IS PROVIDED ALONG WITH
THE OPPORTUNITY TO STUDY FOR FURTHER QQI (PREVIOUSLY FETAC)
QUALIFICATIONS.
THE ROLE:
IWA is looking for a CE participant to join our new team in our
Balbriggan Community Hub as a Care Assistant.
Care Assistants work alongside IWA core staff members to support young
adults with disabilities to be fully involved in a programme of
activities that is designed by young people themselves.
Care Assistants are involved in providing personal care, acting as
escorts on IWA transport, helping at mealtimes, facilitating group and
one-to-one activities and community links, as well as joining
occasional accessible holidays in Ireland and abroad.
BALBRIGGAN COMMUNITY HUB:
IWA launched Balbriggan Community Hub in September **Apply on the
website**. The hub is based in Flemington Community Centre and
provides day services for a small group of young adults with
disabilities. Each young person has their own Individual Service Plan
and Personal Goals.
TRAINING AVAILABLE:
IWA provides in-house mandatory training for all new Care Assistants.
Our CE Supervisor also supports all CE participants to plan a future
career path and to access QQI-accredited training and qualifications.
